    Dear EQ Europe networkers,

From Hyderabad the trip goes to Chirala. Eight or nine hours by train...
Srivinas swings the car toot, toot, toot to the central station.
In the train all people are very kind. Telling stories from India.
Travelling by train in India is comfortable. You have your own bed in train, food is available and there is a lot of hot coffee and fresh bottled water.
In Chirala: Bapa Rao, Sir N B V SUBRAMANYAM and a lot of teachers together with Manasa (family of Bapa Rao) are waiting on the platform. A big welkom with flowers and after that by autorickshan to the school.
The streets of Chirala are full of shopping people, cows, cars, autorickshan, busses. Everyone produces noise by claxon or otherwise, that is traffic rule one. The first rule is: try to find your way as quick as you can without accident and swinging from the left to the right to the left. Behind the road little open trade and handcraft workshops and foodstals. Tailors and hairdressers do there daily work in open little houses between the farmer huts build from palm tree leaf.
Behind the farmer huts dogs, cows, chickens and playing children. In front of the houses a little fire and a bed. Gracious woman in sari in bright colors caring for food. This are the jyipsi people of Andra Pradesh, no resourses but laughter.
The second meeting is this evening of the 13th january on the terrazzo of Viveka Vidyalayam Humanist school.
A group of teachers, Bapa Rao the schoolmanager, students and family all together, asking questions, telling about there school. This is a project to be proud.
150 children in a new school building now after 10 years. The mission of the school is: Quest for freedom, search for truth and cosmopolian humanism.
The school works with a normal school curriculum (given by the gouverment), mathematics, fysics, language and social science. All teachers are very young and brith.
The normal way of learning in India is memorizing and reproduction. They like to go on working in a new more multiple intelligent way, setting up a strong school environment. For that the need recourses, like draw books, concurrencies, pencils, English books for children (children library), playing materials, music instruments and computers.
There are no recourses at all. If you have a good idea to lose this resource problem, please mail to EQnweurope.

    Warm regards from India,
    Gowri, Dhyan and Jyotsna

    Hello all,

Yes that was indeed a good description of Dhyan's tour to chirala...
We all for that reason had made it to visit chirala and get to know things. I think we need to meet people around, know the culture, exchange ideas and together try to find solutions for problems. To get to know about people at large, I think interacting with people and also translating things into other languages is the best method. Afterall, we all are humans and should think on human grounds to make our lives simple but fruitful.

All the best for the activities coming up in bangalore. Dhyan and usha are working on it with all spirits. We sure hope we all can together do it. There is always something to learn and in return we can implement the best.!

    Regards,
    jyotsna
