NEUTRAL [1] Neutral is one of the most efficient psycho physiological states on the planet. Neutral, what that? Neutral is one of the most efficient psycho physiological states on the planet. That's the experience of Doc Children and Bruce Cryer they described in there book From Chaos to Coherence; Boston Butterworth- Heinemann 1999. Secondedition: HDSR.7.C486 2000 158-dc21 I studied this book more then one time. The book reveals sophisticated medical research about heart intelligence that is to understood by nonmedical minds like me. The book provides meaningful data and information marinated with practical tools on how to simplify solutions to life's challenges. I learned a lot by practice this tools for myself and together with my clients. Now I am working with this experience and knowledge and the practical tools in my work as a trainer of teachers and school managers and the coaching of teachers in there work with peoples and students. During 2002 I developed my own way to work with this knowledge. I like to help teachers in developing there own way to do it. Every time we work with this tools I wonder what is happening, the energy and creative power people develop and the pleasure we have. Our first goal was stessmanagement, than we experienced that working with this tools are much more. It begins with coping with chaos and stress and ends up with awareness and positive results: balance, feeling inner peace and clarity, energy and joy, make better creative decitions and create cohesive teams. Neutral, what does it feel like? Neutral is a state of quietude inside- not total silence or total absence of thought, but a state of greater balance than usual, a dynamic peace. Try it by yourself. Use the first two steps of what we call freeze frame:
Neutral is a state where you are not jumping ahead too quickly nor moving to slowly. Neutral does not mean being inactive, complacent, or passive. It is a calm poise that allows new information and new possibilities to emerge before rushing into action. When in neutral you actually increase your sensitivity and intuitive intelligence. Neutral is the fertile ground from which new possibilities can grow. It is not a state you could sustain all your waking hours - at least not yet - but the minutes and hours you are able to be neutral have tremendous benefits in increasing clearity, increased energy and reduced aging. Neutral means putting the overactive mind in check. Slowly down the constant stream of thoughts and taking a deeper unbiased look at situations big and small. Neutral saves wear and tear of our bodies. It keeps our systems smoothly, in a flow. It is an economical approach to life. If we constantly react to every conversation, assighnment, change or random perception, we drain away valuable energy that can be needed when a definitive action need to be taken. Neutral is not an unfocused, unproductive state. It is a highly intelligent, ordered awareness that observes without boxing you in. In several processes working with teachers in schools I observed the positive effects of neutral on persons, team and school culture. For me 'neutral' is an efficient competence to deal with stress full situations and cultural chaos. For more information about my experience: dhyan@xs4all.nl or network@eqee.org The timeless hour. Learning by doing. In Education in the Netherlands I discovered an other approach with an 'neutral' goal for children. The method called "The timeless Hour" offers 22 exercises to improve the integration of cognitive emotional and social intelligence. Major object: Harmonizing the 2 hemispheres of the child's brain in 'Learning by doing' benefit both, children and tutor, there relationship and the process knowledge exchange. Target group: Tutors and Remedial teachers in Education and Counselors in Health Care. The exercises are all focused on expression by movement from intuition leading tranquillity of mind though training in individual and collective drawing- and clay work exercises. I like it because drawing, sculpture and body work is my speciality. For me it is a good extra for working multiple intelligent in EQ training, combined with other exercises and music. The imaging 22 exercises in this beautiful book visualize: Learning by doing. Learning by doing in which a child can discover its power of exploitation, the expression of itself and its ability to exchange experiences. Because the completeness of this method, these skills stimulated the integration of talents of the left and the right hemisphere of the brain. My experience with this exercises is at best in processes with young children and there teachers. In secondary schools sometimes training the drawing exercises are more efficient in combination with other training tools. Interested in this approach: Title of the Book: "Het tijdloze uur". (Dutch) Workbook including instruction and an instruction video. Author: Michiel Czn. Dhont. Published by: LAMBO/The Netherlands 2000 ISBN 90.74119.66.2 E-mail: michiel@dhont.nl For me neutral is impartial and unbiased. Unbiased on all grounds and at all times. It sure is difficult to be at times, even for me, but then it sure pinches for being so. But then it gets fruitful results later, for which we need to wait. This method can be applied from education at schools to law at courts. If that be so half or even more of the situations can be handled smoothly. Partiality on any grounds need not be encouraged. Then automatically, there is a healthy flow in the society. Regards, jyotsna Srinivasan India European Network on Emotional Quality © 2002-2008 |
